mont'alves laekenois m litter born 02.06.14
Alicia da Casa Mont'Alves lived most of her life in Spain at the El Valle Dorado Kennel where she produced 2 litters. Upon the sudden dead of her owner we took her back and she went to live with a friend in the north of Portugal. This friend felt in love with the laekenois and due to Alicia advance age he decided to have another one and so he took Instant Devotion da Casa Mont'Alves to live with Alicia and his family.
On May the 20th we got a phone call from him saying that he though Alicia was pregnant because she was rather big. The same day an ultrasound was done and the pregnancy confirmed. Not the usual way of doing things at Mont'Alves but what was done was done. Instant Devotion had no health clearings done so on the 21th he went to the vet and did the Hips and Elbows, we were very happy to receive the news that he is HD B and ED Free. He will soon do his eyes tests.
We informed the Portuguese kennel club of the litter on May the 22th. Both parents have excellent type but Alicia does not have furnishings and the coat is rather short but very harsh. However we know from Alicia past litter that she produces very well and with correct coat and furnishings so we in spite of not having the litter planned are very excited with this combination.
On June the 2nd 8 puppies were born. 1 male and 7 females. Unfortunately 4 females were born dead and 1 died shortly after birth. The 3 puppies that are alive are doing super well.
